I envy you having so many of these colourful creatures around your home. It's always a pleasure to see them though your eyes.

Too bad about the "red-eye"... lol.

lol. Thank you :D Yeah, they are lovely. I regret spending so many years living in fear of them. I was never a huge fan of things that swarm, but you kinda get used to it after a few decades in Florida.
Thanks again for your comments!

Dragonflies are awesome models for photography :) They are hard to capture, but make some proffessional looking photos. I'm really impressed you've gotten this close to it (but I do belive you cropped the picture?), I tried to take a photo of one at Plitvica lakes but it wouldn't stand still :rage:

Nope, not cropped. The only editing is an adjustment to the lighting and an increase in sharpness.

Yeah, they are not easy to get pictures of, but I have a ton where I live so that helps. Studying their behavior and eating patterns helps a lot. If you catch them when they are flying around searching for food, you will likely never get a good shot. This guy stayed perched like this for at least 3-4 minutes. I was maybe 3-4 feet away.

Yeah, there aren't any in my area... That was the only time I have ever seen a dragonfly.
