I would like to say that I agree, but I went in that directions and I'm not so sure now. For one thing, this flower is the size of a quarter....hibiscus flowers are always fairly large and never this small. Second, the stamen...the stamen of this flower is nothing like the stamen of hibiscus, which have a very distinct and easily recognizable stamen. Three, these flowers grow wild and ramped and I seem to find them always fairly close to a water source ( rivers and ponds). 4th, the plant it grows from and the leaves of this plant look nothing like that of any hibiscus I have ever seen. And 5th, if this were indeed a classified hibiscus, I would be able to find other images of it, but I have searched through so many flower databases and general image searches and nothing....
I'm totally at a loss. But I can't find any reason to believe that this is a hibiscus besides the fact that it slightly resembles one due to the shape of the petals...other than that, all signs point to it not being a hibiscus.
